The most important discovery that I have ever made about life is that it is meant to be lived. This might sound a little obvious but sometimes the most obvious discoveries, the simplest truths are the most profound.

As I sit here writing on the very last day of 2013, I am more than a little aware that I have spent much of my adult life endeavouring to accumulate knowledge. It is as if I have held to a deep core belief that my life will only make sense as I know and understand more about it. This sounds very logical, but it is a fundamentally flawed assumption. I’m not sure if this was simply God’s sense of humour but I am now seeing that he has rigged life to become more and more obscure, the more we try to reason it and understand it.
